A Bit About Me
I'm Praneet Kumar Sahoo, a Human Factors researcher and AI engineer with a Master's in Kinesiology from the University of Windsor. Based in Windsor, Ontario, I specialize in designing user-centered HMIs, conducting UX research, and developing machine vision systems and neural networks for the automotive and industrial sectors. I bridge empirical human factors research with modern engineering, utilizing tools such as Figma, Unreal Engine, eye-tracking hardware, and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.

My work includes leading and supporting research on driver behavior analysis, on-road Tesla Autopilot evaluations, and industrial ergonomic optimizations. Through collaborations with partners such as the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, the Windsor Police Department, and Atlas Copco, this work has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications and research honors, including the Mitacs Award and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.

Beyond research, I build and deploy production AI systems. Through my own venture, Orbit AI, I design AI agents and LLM-powered automation for real businesses, and as a UX research consultant for iNAGO's Mutualism platform, I evaluate conversational AI interfaces for next-generation connected vehicles.

I'm passionate about advancing safety, usability, and human-machine interaction through data-driven insights — whether that means running a controlled experiment, training a neural network, or shipping a working product. As a Researcher at Human System Labs, I lead projects using AI, machine vision, and eye-tracking to enhance automotive safety and industrial efficiency. I design experiments, collect and analyze data, author reports, develop methodologies, and manage teams, advancing human-machine interaction.
As a UX Research Consultant at iNAGO Inc., I evaluated the user experience of the Mutualism platform, focusing on in-vehicle conversational AI and connected automotive interfaces. I conducted heuristic evaluations and cognitive walkthroughs of the driver-facing HMI, designed and executed usability testing sessions, and created annotated wireframes in Figma to reduce driver cognitive load, resolve usability bottlenecks, and ensure safety compliance.
As a Research Assistant at Human System Labs, I supported experiments in human factors, focusing on driver behavior and ergonomics. I collected and analyzed data with MATLAB and R, drafted reports, and collaborated with teams to improve automotive and workplace safety.
